In early 1998, out of her desire, to help her students find a scarves and dancewear at affordable prices, Naj purchased a few hipscarves and miscellaneous items and started a home-based business. Naj had been self-employed the previous 20 years with extensive training in marketing, computers. She had 3 years of specialized training with a company that taught By Referral Only business through customer service and giving to the client. She applied this knowledge along with her knowledge of dance and what dancers loved and the business grew. Over the years, BellyDanceShoppe grew to include music, costuming, veils, jewelry, practice wear such as unitards and leotards. Belly Dance Shop's Internet Sales came from all over world; including Japan, Malaysia, Australia, Russia, Slovenia, Canada and of course the U.S.A.
In November 2004, the retail business had out grown 2 rooms of her home, and BellyDanceShoppe Studio opened. BellyDanceShoppe.com Studio is a small studio and retail store to supply the needs of the Arizona Dance Community. Our goal is to increase awareness and knowledge of this beautiful form of dance as an art to appreciated by all. We have the best teachers to teach the dance to young and old, from beginner through performance level.
We promote health, comraderie and character development. It is a place to learn about the music and culture of the many countries where this dance is performed.
